Mother Teresa is one of the most recognized faces. But why is she recognized? Is it because of her giftedness? No. It’s because of her holiness.

But why is she holy?

Is she holy because she fed the poor? Is she holy because she started a religious order? Is she holy because she won the Nobel Peace Prize? No! She’s not holy because of what she did with her life; she’s holy because of what God did in her life through the power of grace.

On September 4, 2016 the Catholic Church officially recognizes her as a saint, and I’d like to share with you my top ten quotes from St Teresa of Calcutta:

[Video from Ken Yasinski – 2:47 minutes]

1 – Spread love everywhere you go. Let no one ever come to you without leaving happier.

2 – Love to be real, it must cost – it must hurt – it must empty us of self.

3 – If we pray, we will believe; If we believe, we will love; If we love, we will serve.

4 – I do not pray for success, I ask for faithfulness.

5 – If you judge people, you have no time to love them.

6 – The greatest destroyer of peace is abortion, because if a mother can kill her own child, what is left for me to kill you and you to kill me? There is nothing between.

7 – There are many people who can do big things, but there are very few people who will do the small things.

8 – The closer you are to Jesus, the better you will know His thirst.

9 – When you look at the crucifix, you understand how much Jesus loved you then. When you look at the Sacred Host, you understand how much Jesus loves you now.

10 – Loneliness, and the feeling of being unwanted, is the most terrible poverty.

St Teresa of Calcutta, pray for us!
